Toddlers Classroom
Developmentally Appropriate Curriculum
At True Freedom Ministries Daycare and Learning Center (TFMDLC), we provide a nurturing, play-based curriculum aligned with Georgia state standards and guided by NAEYC best practices.
Our approach focuses on the whole child-supporting growth through hands-on learning, meaningful experiences, and activities that spark curiosity and joy. Each lesson is thoughtfully planned around children’s interests, encouraging engagement while meeting individual developmental needs.
Language Development
We support early communication skills by helping children connect sounds to letters, build vocabulary, and form simple sentences. Through conversation, storytelling, and interactive activities, children learn to express their thoughts, feelings, and ideas with confidence.
Cognitive Development
Children develop thinking, reasoning, and problem-solving skills through exploration and guided learning experiences.
Social-Emotional Development
Children learn to understand and express their emotions while building positive relationships with others. We focus on:
Taking turns and sharing
Following routines
Developing independence
Building self-confidence
This foundation helps children feel secure, valued, and ready to learn.
Science
Through observation and exploration, children begin to understand basic scientific concepts. They use their senses to ask questions, make predictions, and discover how things work.
Physical Development: Fine Motor Skills
Children strengthen small muscle movements in their hands and fingers through activities like drawing, coloring, building with blocks, and using child-safe scissors. These skills support hand-eye coordination and early writing development.
Math
We introduce early math concepts such as counting, number recognition, patterns, and sorting. Children learn through hands-on materials that make learning both fun and meaningful.
Physical Development: Gross Motor Skills
Active play helps children build strength, balance, and coordination. Through both indoor and outdoor activities, children develop important physical skills while also building confidence and social interaction.
Social Studies
Children build an understanding of their community and the world around them. Learning begins with friendships and classroom interactions, then expands to family, neighborhood, and beyond.
Art, Music, Dance, and Creative Expression
We nurture creativity by introducing children to a variety of art forms, including painting, music, and movement. Activities such as water play, kinetic sand, and seasonal materials allow children to explore, imagine, and express themselves freely while having fun.
Sensory Exploration
Our classroom encourages hands-on discovery through sensory play. Children explore different textures, sounds, and materials using sensory bins, music, and movement activities-helping them better understand the world around them.
Weekly themes
Each program consists of its own weekly theme, so that your child has something new to anticipate with each coming week.
Curriculums
Educational moments are tucked into every lesson. Our curriculum will introduce your child to basic principles in math, science, reading, writing, and more.
Hands-on activities
Our activities are designed to keep your child engaged, whether it’s learning how to draw the solar system or memorizing a song about the seasons.
Free Play
Children have free play time throughout the day.
